All the agricultural development programs are coordinated and implemented focusing the farmers, the combination of both men and women farmer groups. Since the contribution in Nepal's agricultural process of the women labor has been major, anticipated agricultural products and productivity without their added skills, education and knowledge would be challenging. Therefore, not considering the Women Farmer Development Program as different program, for the discreet involvement of the women in every agricultural production program, Women Farmer Development Division, established under the ministry in the fiscal year 049/050, was renamed Gender Equity and Environment Division from the year 2061, Baisakh, accumulating agricultural environment and bio-diversity related programs under this division. With the effective implementation of the programs under this changed name and expanded scope of the division, conceptual misunderstanding about the program as a different program is comprehensible and all the agricultural development programs would encourage the gender mainstreaming. |
