DEPARTMENT OF LIVESTOCK SERVICES
In the agricultural process of Nepal, livestock business has been one of the most important medium of earning for the local people.

Department of Livestock Services has been responsible for providing required services for the qualitative improvement of the livestock like livestock services, breed improvement, livestock forage and livestock management and other different sectors to make livestock business profitable.
 
Objectives
  1. To eradicate the problem of malnutrition through the balance consumption of livestock products and increase the production and productivity of the livestock products
  2. Remarkable concentration on livestock business to support rural economy and for regional balance
  3. Assist in contribution of livestock to improve the economical and social status of the women, poor and socially underprivileged class
  4. Assist for environmental conservation and balance by developing hybrid livestock profession as the major income source of the farmer family
  5. Expansion of livestock disease control services to contribute in livestock wealth safety and general health conservation of the kingdom
  6. Availability of raw material for the production of livestock to be exported and substitution of the imported livestock
  7. To involve private sector in commercial livestock domestication, source development, conservation services and market management
  8. Expansion of quality control services in the benefit of livestock domestication and related industries and consumers
  9. Identification, conservation, preservation and development of beneficial livestock with the possibility of vanishing
